Thank You from 2010 President

The 2010 Executive would like to thank the membership of the Winnipeg Cycling Club for a great year and especially everyone who was able to make to the Manitoba Sports for Life Centre, Tuesday, November 2nd for the 2010 AGM.
 
The AGM started with refreshments, and pizza from Sorrento’s. After some food refreshments and good conversation the meeting was called to order with a welcome from the President. Our guess speaker was Berrie Hall, who gave a fact fill presentation of the accomplishments of the Recreation and Transportation Committee. Which include an update on the new Active Transportation Trails and Bike Routes. This was followed by reports from the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Membership Coordinator (minutes are posted on the web site under "Forms & Documents").
 
Two motions were brought forward on the agenda:
1.     The adoption of a revised roles and responsibilities of executive members. The motion also included the addition of a new voting position on the executive of Communications Coordinator, the dropping of the Editor position and making the Recorder position non-voting. This was passed after some discussion.( can be found under Forms & Documents - Roles & Responsibilities)
2.     Compensating the Executive with free WCC membership. Not passed.
 
There was also a discussion on replacing the WCC logo. It was decided a committee should be struck to decide whether or what the new logo should be. The committee would report back to the Executive, who will have the final decision.
 
I would like to thank the all the club members who had the time to volunteer to make the 2010 season a successes; by leading rides, joining a ride committee, or helping with and participating in our club events. I would especially like to thank the ride coordinators – Dan, Cornelia, Henry, & Rick Koswin. I would also like to thank Dan for all his work on the web site.  
 
Three volunteer positions were filled:
1.     Web Master – Dan Topham
2.     Monday “North Spokes” Coordinator – Cornelia Dombroski & Bob Romance
3.     Monday “South Spokes” Coordinator – Henry Shore
Wednesday “Cycle-in-the-City” Coordinator and Day Ride Coordinator were not filled
 
I would also like to thank the 2010 Executive, Kaye Grant V.P., George Clark Treasurer, and Denise Vandal Membership for all their work and support. This year saw many changes and many challenges which could not have been met without their dedication. A special thanks to Pauline for stepping in as a temporary Recorder and staying on for the season.

·       Ride Leader for a Day or Wednesday Ride
·       Member of Logo Committee
·       Volunteer to help with a club event
