It is official, we have changed the name of our club to Winnipeg Cycling Club.
After lengthy discussions at our fall AGM the executive decided it would be in our club's best interest to change our name by dropping the "touring" portion
In years past the club members actively participated in organizing and riding in various tours which were presented. However, in the past few years interest in this particular activity in the club has been waning. There are many rides organized for fundraising and fun tours hosted by local outlets and our neighbours to the south which many of the club members participate in. For those members interested in multiple days rides there are many to choose from within a short drive from our city.
The Winnipeg Cycling Club will strive to make the weekday evening rides interesting for all members wishing to participate. The weekend day rides will be of longer duration usually in the 2 - 4 hour range cover a variety of locals. These rides will usually alternate between the off road and road variety and we hope offer challenges to the riders as well as a great social atmosphere.
