The Lorette Luncheon ride

Join me for this ride and lunch in Lorette following a cycle on the Old Dawson Trail.  The route makes use of paved and gravel roads through pastoral countryside heading southeasterly along Prairie Grove Road.  Mountain bikes or bikes with hybrid tires are recommended.  The Dawson Trail is rich in Manitoba history, and at great expense a renowned historian will be part of the package to provide you details and hopefully a story or two.  Lunch will be at Chicken Chef in Lorette.  Regrettably, Solid Ground is not open on weekends.  Cyclists can park their c

Trans Canada Trail - Brereton Lakes

This is a new ride for the club on the Trans Canada Trail established in the last few years. The ride starts at Brereton Lake in the eastern part of the Whiteshell Provincial Park, using the Trans Canada Trail connecting the community of Rennie and Inverness Falls.

Ils des Chenes to New Bothwell - Off Road

Ile des Chenes is 20 km or 15 min drive from the Royal Mint.

The ride starts in Ile des Chenes . We take a cross country route following the berm of the Manning Canal for a few km. We switch to gravel roads always avoiding traffic.  Lunch will be in New Bothwell, famous for the cheese factory.  Restaurant or park are available. The distance is 35 to 40 km return . Riding at 15 km an hour it should be 2.5 hrs. This ride can be changed to a road ride if the weather fails us.

Birds Hill Trails

It's a beautiful spring day, the birds are singing, the sun is shining and you're just itching to get out in the woods,  Nows your chance.  Jump into your cycling clothes, fill up your water bottle, grab your mountain bike, and join George for a great mountain bike ride in Birds Hill park.  We'll bike the trails in the park from mild to slightly wild and we'll try not ot get too lost   Included will be the Blue StemTrail (piece of cake) and Bur Oak (now it gets interesting).  Don't forget your sun block and repellent.  Bring your own food -

Ross to Richer - Off Road

Ross is a very small town 50 km from the Royal Mint . One hour drive on the Trans Canada Hwy East to Prov Hwy 501 East . At the end of Hwy 501 is Ross. It is on the edge of the Sandilands Prov Forest. The Greater Winnipeg Water District Railroad runs through the hamlet. The Winnipeg aqueduct, a prominent feature of the area, was started in 1914. Ross has no facilities.

Winnipeg Trails -- Thursdays    
 
This is like a Wednesday ride at a leisurely pace off road ride for mountain or hybrid bikes. Weather permitting we will ride the trails of Winnipeg avoiding the singletrack trails.
 We will ride east, west, north, south, once in each direction. South will follow the Seine River, West will be on the Harte Trail and North will follow the Pritchard Farm Trail, East will take us to Transcona.
 

 

 All rides will start 7 pm.    No need to phone ride leader.

 

Tonights ride:  May 5 at  7 pm   --    Start from the Childrens Museum at the Forks and will follow the Seine river trails south.

 

Iles des Chenes - New Bothwell Tour

This ride is on gravel roads and not at all difficult.  Hybrids or mtbs will be suitable for thils event.  Quiet country roads and lots to see.  Lunch can be had at the local cafe in New Bothwell or bring your own.

This is like a Wednesday ride at a leisurely pace off road ride for mountain or hybrid bikes.  Weather pemitting, we will ride the trails of Winnipeg, avoiding the single track trails.
