La Broquerie - Woodridge Ride

This Sunday ride to Woodridge, MB. starts in the small town of La Broquerie and follows the hilly forested roads through Sandilands Provincial Forest. Traffic is light,  the route is challenging, and the mixed aspen and pine forests are picturesque.  After lunch in the local Woodridge Café, we return by the same route.  Be prepared for some demanding cycling – there always seems to be strong headwinds and stormy weather on the Woodridge ride.   Be sure to contact the ride leader to confirm the starting time and location.

Assiniboine - Medicine Rock

Join the group and take a leisurely tour from Assiniboine Park to St. Francis Xavier via Roblin Blvd.  The ride travels through Headingly and onto old Hwy 26 into St Francis Xavier.  Bring along a lunch and drink as there are places nearby where one can sit, rest and enjoy a well deserved rest.  If we have to have wind, hopefully it will be in our faces on the way out and at our backs for the return ride.  It is allowed on certain occasion.

Cycle in the City - Fort Whyte Alive

We meet at Oak St. and Wellington Crescent, then cycle west on Wellington into Assiniboine Park, then onto the path system through Assiniboine Forest. Leaving the forest, we meander east down Sterling Lyon Parkway and pick up the Fort Whyte Path. In Fort Whyte we may see deer, geese, bison, civic politicians, and other wildlife. After a rest break, we escape Fort Whyte via the north bike path to McGillivray, then through Lindenwoods back to Sterling Lyon. Crossing the tracks on Waverley, we’ll head back to our starting place by cruising the residential streets of River Heights.
